The Shirelles were an American girl group formed in 1957 in Passaic, New Jersey. They were one of the first and most successful girl groups of the early 1960s. The original members included Shirley Owens, Doris Coley, Beverly Lee, and Addie "Micki" Harris. They were known for their sweet harmonies and catchy tunes, often focusing on themes of love and teenage relationships.

The Shirelles achieved commercial success with hits like "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," which became their first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. They also had other popular songs such as "Dedicated to the One I Love" and "Soldier Boy." The Shirelles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996, recognizing their influential contributions to the music industry as one of the pioneering girl groups of their time.
