The Show Stoppers were a short-lived American soul and R&B group formed in Philadelphia in the late 1960s. The group consisted of five members: Earl Young, Harry Green, Charles Ingersoll, Bill Wellman, and Jimmy Ellis. They are best known for their hit single "Ain't Nothin' But a House Party," which was released in 1967 and reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has since become a classic in the Northern soul scene in the UK.
Despite their initial success, The Show Stoppers disbanded after only a few years together. However, their music continued to be popular among fans of soul and R&B music, and their single "Ain't Nothin' But a House Party" has been covered by various artists over the years.
