The Smashing Pumpkins is an American alternative rock band formed in Chicago in 1988. The band's lineup has undergone many changes over the years, with the only constant member being lead vocalist and guitarist Billy Corgan. The original lineup also included James Iha on guitar, D'arcy Wretzky on bass, and Jimmy Chamberlin on drums. The band gained mainstream success with their second album, "Siamese Dream," released in 1993, which featured hit singles like "Today" and "Disarm."
The Smashing Pumpkins are known for their diverse musical style, blending elements of grunge, psychedelic rock, and heavy metal.
