Artist Bio:
The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band formed in Chicago in 1988. The band's original lineup consisted of Billy Corgan (vocals, guitar), James Iha (guitar), D'arcy Wretzky (bass), and Jimmy Chamberlin (drums). They rose to fame in the early 1990s with their second studio album, "Siamese Dream," which included hits like "Today" and "Disarm."

The band achieved mainstream success with their third album, "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness," released in 1995, which earned them seven Grammy Award nominations. Over the years, The Smashing Pumpkins have undergone multiple lineup changes, with Billy Corgan being the sole constant member. Their music is characterized by Corgan's distinctive songwriting, the band's layered sound, and a mix of heavy rock elements with dreamy, introspective lyrics. The Smashing Pumpkins have sold over 30 million albums worldwide and remain a significant influence in the alternative rock genre.
