The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band formed in Chicago in 1988. The band achieved mainstream success with their second album, "Siamese Dream," released in 1993, which featured hit singles like "Today" and "Disarm." Their follow-up album, "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness," released in 1995, received critical acclaim and commercial success, earning the band seven Grammy Award nominations.


Led by frontman Billy Corgan, The Smashing Pumpkins have undergone several lineup changes over the years but have maintained a loyal fan base and continued to release music. Some of their other popular songs include "1979," "Bullet with Butterfly Wings," and "Tonight, Tonight." The band has sold over 30 million albums worldwide and is considered one of the most influential alternative rock bands of the 1990s.
