The Spellbinders were an American soul group formed in New Jersey in the 1960s. The group consisted of lead vocalist Bobby Shivers, James "Pep" Worthy, McArthur Munford, Ben Grant, and Elouise Pennington. They are best known for their hit single "Chain Reaction," released in 1966 on the Columbia label. The song reached #2 on the R&B charts and #56 on the pop charts.


The Spellbinders' music is characterized by their tight harmonies, energetic performances, and soulful sound.
