The Spinners are an American rhythm and blues vocal group that formed in 1954 in Detroit, Michigan. They are known for their smooth harmonies and soulful sound, blending elements of R&B, funk, and disco. The original members of the group were Henry Fambrough, Pervis Jackson, Billy Henderson, Bobbie Smith, and C.P. Spencer.
The Spinners achieved commercial success in the 1970s with hits such as "I'll Be Around," "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love," and "The Rubberband Man." They were signed to the Motown label in the 1960s before moving to Atlantic Records in the 1970s, where they had their most successful period. The Spinners were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999 and continue to perform and tour, with Henry Fambrough as the only remaining original member.
