The Spinners are a soul music vocal group from Detroit, Michigan. They were formed in 1954 and are known for their R&B, Philly soul, and disco sound. The original members of the group were Henry Fambrough, Pervis Jackson, Billy Henderson, Bobby Smith, and George Dixon. Over the years, the lineup changed, but the group continued to produce hits and tour extensively.
The Spinners are best known for their hits in the 1970s and 1980s, including "I'll Be Around," "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love," and "The Rubberband Man." They were signed to the Atlantic Records label and had a string of successful albums during this period. The Spinners were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999 and continue to perform and record music to this day.
