The Spinners, also known as The Detroit Spinners, are an American rhythm and blues vocal group that was formed in Ferndale, Michigan in 1954. They achieved their greatest commercial success during the 1970s as a part of the Philly soul sound, with hits such as "I'll Be Around," "Could It Be I'm Falling in Love," and "The Rubberband Man."
The group originally started as a doo-wop group called The Domingoes, before changing their name to The Spinners in 1961. Throughout their career, The Spinners have had numerous lineup changes, with various members coming and going. They were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999 and continue to perform and tour to this day, delighting audiences with their soulful harmonies and timeless hits.
