The Staple Singers were an American gospel, soul, and R&B group formed in 1948 by Roebuck "Pops" Staples and his children Cleotha, Pervis, and Mavis Staples. The group gained fame for their socially conscious lyrics and powerful vocal harmonies. They are best known for their hits such as "I'll Take You There," "Respect Yourself," and "Let's Do It Again."

The Staple Singers' music often reflected the civil rights and social justice movements of the 1960s and 1970s. They were heavily involved in the struggle for racial equality and performed at numerous civil rights rallies and events. The group's unique blend of gospel, soul, and R&B music earned them a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005. The Staple Singers' music continues to inspire and influence artists across genres to this day.
