Artist Bio:
The Strangeloves were a 1960s American band known for their hit song "I Want Candy." The group was actually a fictional band created by a trio of successful songwriters and producers: Bob Feldman, Jerry Goldstein, and Richard Gottehrer. The three men dressed up in shaggy wigs and fake noses to pose as Australian musicians in order to capitalize on the British Invasion craze at the time.
Despite their manufactured image, The Strangeloves found success with their catchy pop songs. In addition to "I Want Candy," they also had hits with songs like "Night Time" and "Cara-Lin." While The Strangeloves' career was short-lived, their music continues to be celebrated for its fun and energetic sound that captured the spirit of the 1960s music scene.
