Artist Bio:
The Strangers were an American rock band formed in 1964 in Los Angeles, California. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Bob Welch, bassist and vocalist Randy Meisner, guitarist and vocalist Gene Clark, keyboardist Chris Hillman, and drummer Michael Clarke. The band was part of the burgeoning folk rock and country rock scene of the 1960s and 1970s.

The Strangers released only one self-titled album in 1965, which received critical acclaim but failed to achieve commercial success. Despite their short-lived career, The Strangers are considered a pioneer in the country rock genre and laid the foundation for the future success of its members in other bands such as The Byrds, The Eagles, and Fleetwood Mac. The band ultimately disbanded in 1965, but their influence on the music industry continues to be recognized today.
