Artist Bio:
The Supremes, formed in Detroit in 1959, were one of the most successful vocal groups of the 1960s. The original lineup consisted of Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, and Florence Ballard. With a string of hits like "Baby Love," "Stop! In the Name of Love," and "You Can't Hurry Love," The Supremes became known for their polished performances and glamorous image. They were the most commercially successful Motown act and were often referred to as the "sweethearts of Motown." Diana Ross eventually left the group for a successful solo career in 1970, and The Supremes disbanded in 1977.
