Artist Bio:
The Supremes were an American female singing group formed in Detroit in 1959. The group achieved mainstream success with Motown Records during the 1960s and became one of the most successful vocal groups of the era. The original lineup consisted of Diana Ross, Florence Ballard, and Mary Wilson. Throughout their career, The Supremes had 12 number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and were the most commercially successful Motown act. Diana Ross, in particular, went on to have a successful solo career after leaving the group in 1970. The Supremes were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.
