Artist Bio:
The Supremes were an American female singing group that achieved great success in the 1960s. Formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1959, the group originally consisted of members Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson, and Diana Ross. They quickly became Motown's most successful act, with a string of hits including "Baby Love," "Stop! In the Name of Love," and "You Can't Hurry Love."

Diana Ross emerged as the group's lead singer and eventually left for a solo career in 1970. The Supremes continued with new members, eventually disbanding in 1977. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2012. The Supremes are considered one of the most successful vocal groups of the 20th century, with 12 number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
