Artist Bio:
The Surfaris were an American surf rock band formed in Glendora, California in 1962. The original members were Ron Wilson (drums), Jim Fuller (guitar), Bob Berryhill (guitar), and Pat Connolly (bass). They are best known for their instrumental hit single "Wipe Out," released in 1963. The energetic drum solo at the beginning of the song has become iconic in popular culture and is often associated with surfing and beach culture.
Despite their significant impact on surf music, The Surfaris struggled to replicate the success of "Wipe Out." They continued to release music throughout the 1960s and 1970s but never achieved the same level of commercial success. The band disbanded in the 1970s but their influence on surf music and rock 'n' roll continues to be celebrated by fans and musicians alike.
