The Swell Season is a musical duo consisting of Irish musician Glen Hansard and Czech singer-songwriter Marketa Irglova. They gained widespread recognition after starring in the 2007 film "Once," which featured their music and earned them an Academy Award for Best Original Song for their track "Falling Slowly."
Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova continued to collaborate following the success of "Once," releasing albums such as their self-titled debut album in 2006, "Strict Joy" in 2009, and "Between Two Shores" in 2018. Their music is characterized by heartfelt lyrics, poignant melodies, and their beautiful harmonies. Despite going their separate ways romantically, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova have maintained a strong musical partnership and continue to create music together as The Swell Season.
