The Temptations are an American vocal group known for their success in the Motown record label during the 1960s and 1970s. Formed in Detroit in 1960, the group is known for their smooth harmonies, elaborate choreography, and distinctively stylish suits. The original lineup consisted of members Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks, and David Ruffin.


The Temptations achieved commercial success with hits such as "My Girl," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone." They have won multiple Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. The group has undergone numerous lineup changes over the years, but they continue to perform and tour, keeping their timeless music alive for new generations of fans.
