The Temptations are an American vocal group known for their success in the Motown genre. Formed in Detroit in 1960, the original lineup consisted of Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, and David Ruffin. They were known for their smooth harmonies, flashy wardrobe, and choreographed dance routines.


The Temptations have released numerous hit songs, including "My Girl," "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone," and "Ain't Too Proud to Beg." They have won several Grammy Awards and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. Despite numerous lineup changes over the years, The Temptations continue to perform and tour, solidifying their status as one of the most successful and enduring vocal groups in music history.
