The Temptations are an American vocal group known for their success in the 1960s and 1970s as one of Motown's most successful acts. Formed in Detroit in 1960, the group's lineup has changed several times over the years, but their signature harmonies and choreography have remained consistent. The original lineup consisted of Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Eddie Kendricks, Paul Williams, and Elbridge "Al" Bryant.


The Temptations are best known for hits such as "My Girl," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone." They have won multiple Grammy Awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and continues to perform and record music, with their music influencing generations of artists across various genres.
