The Temptations are an American vocal group known for their success in the 1960s and 1970s. Formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1960, the group originally consisted of members Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks, and David Ruffin. They were known for their harmonious vocals, choreography, and distinct style that combined R&B, soul, and doo-wop influences.
The Temptations achieved commercial success with hits such as "My Girl," "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone." They won three Grammy Awards throughout their career and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989. Despite numerous lineup changes over the years, The Temptations have remained active in the music industry and continue to perform to this day.
