Artist Bio:
The Tokens were an American doo-wop vocal group formed in 1955 in Brooklyn, New York. The original members were Neil Sedaka, Hank Medress, Eddie Rabkin, and Cynthia Zolotin. The group is best known for their 1961 hit single "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has since been covered by numerous artists and featured in various movies, TV shows, and commercials.

Throughout their career, The Tokens released several other singles, including "Tonight I Fell in Love" and "I Hear Trumpets Blow," but they never reached the same level of success as "The Lion Sleeps Tonight." The group continued to perform and record music for many years, with various lineup changes, before disbanding in the late 1970s. The Tokens were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2004.
