Artist Bio:
The Tokens were an American doo-wop group formed in 1955 in Brooklyn, New York. The original members were Neil Sedaka, Hank Medress, Eddie Rabkin, and Cynthia Zolotin. They are best known for their hit single "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1961. The group's signature harmonies and catchy melodies made them popular during the doo-wop era of the late 1950s and early 1960s.

In addition to "The Lion Sleeps Tonight," The Tokens had other successful songs such as "Tonight I Fell in Love" and "I Hear Trumpets Blow." They also worked as producers for other artists, including producing the Chiffons' hit song "He's So Fine." The Tokens continued to perform and record music throughout the years, with various lineup changes, until the death of Hank Medress in 2007.
