The Toy Dolls are a British punk rock band formed in 1979 in Sunderland, England. The band is known for their energetic live performances and humorous lyrics. The Toy Dolls have released numerous albums, with their debut album "Dig That Groove Baby" being released in 1983. Some of their most popular songs include "Nellie the Elephant," "Idle Gossip," and "Olga... I Cannot."
The band was formed by lead vocalist and guitarist Michael "Olga" Algar, who has been the only consistent member throughout the band's various lineup changes. The Toy Dolls have gained a dedicated following in the punk rock scene and are known for their fast-paced, catchy tunes and lighthearted approach to music.
