The band's lineup consisted of lead vocalist Jimmy Ellis, Harold Wade, Stanley Wade, Robert Upchurch, and Earl Young.

Their biggest hit came in 1977 with the release of "Disco Inferno," which became a disco anthem and was featured on the soundtrack of the hit movie "Saturday Night Fever."
