Artist Bio:
The Trammps were an American disco and soul band formed in Philadelphia in 1972. The group was originally known as The Volcanos before changing their name to The Trammps, which was inspired by the famous discotheque in Philadelphia called Tramp's. The original members included lead singer Jimmy Ellis, Harold Wade, Stanley Wade, Earl Young, Robert Upchurch, and Stanley Wade.


The Trammps gained international fame in the 1970s with their hit songs such as "Disco Inferno" and "That's Where the Happy People Go." Their music was known for its energetic and danceable disco sound, and they were a popular act in the disco era. The Trammps continued to perform and record music throughout the 1980s and 1990s. The band was inducted into the Dance Music Hall of Fame in 2005.
