Artist Bio:
The Turtles were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California. The band achieved their greatest success in the mid to late 1960s with a series of hit singles, including "Happy Together," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1967. The Turtles were known for their catchy pop sound and harmonies, and they were part of the "sunshine pop" music genre popular during that era.
The band's lineup consisted of vocalists Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman, guitarist Al Nichol, keyboardist Jim Tucker, and drummer John Barbata. The Turtles disbanded in 1970, but Kaylan and Volman continued to perform together as Flo & Eddie. The Turtles were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2009, recognizing their contributions to music and their enduring popularity with fans.
