The Turtles were an American rock band formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California. The band's original members included vocalists Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman, also known as Flo & Eddie, as well as Al Nichol, Jim Tucker, and Don Murray. The Turtles achieved their biggest success with their cover of Bob Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe" and the hit single "Happy Together," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1967.
The Turtles were known for their folk rock and psychedelic sound, blending catchy melodies with intricate vocal harmonies. The band released several albums during the 1960s and toured extensively, gaining a loyal fan base.
