The Tymes were an American soul vocal group who achieved their greatest success in the 1960s. The group was formed in Philadelphia in 1956 and consisted of four members: George Williams, Albert Berry, Norman Burnett, and Donald Banks. They were known for their smooth harmonies and romantic ballads, blending R&B, doo-wop, and pop influences in their music.
The Tymes are best known for their hit songs "So Much in Love" and "Wonderful! Wonderful!" which both reached the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. "So Much in Love" in particular was a major success, reaching number 1 on the charts in 1963. The group continued to record and perform throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with varying levels of success. The Tymes were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2005, recognizing their contribution to the music industry.
