Artist Bio:
The Van Dykes were an American soul vocal group that was active in the 1960s. The group was formed in Detroit, Michigan, and consisted of members Leonard Caston, James Holvay, Thomas Holvay, and Norbert McClean. They were signed to the Mala Records label, a subsidiary of Bell Records, and released several singles during their career.

Their most well-known song is "No Man is an Island," which was released in 1968 and reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The Van Dykes' music is characterized by their smooth harmonies and soulful sound, typical of the Motown and soul music of the era. Despite their talent and potential, The Van Dykes did not achieve widespread commercial success, and eventually disbanded in the early 1970s. Today, they are remembered as a talented vocal group that contributed to the rich tapestry of soul music from that era.
