The Ventures are an American instrumental rock band formed in 1958 in Tacoma, Washington. The group is known for their influential and innovative guitar-driven sound, which helped shape the development of surf rock music in the 1960s. The band's original lineup consisted of Don Wilson, Bob Bogle, Nokie Edwards, and Howie Johnson. They are best known for their hit singles "Walk, Don't Run" and "Hawaii Five-O," as well as their iconic surf rock sound that has made them one of the best-selling instrumental bands of all time.


The Ventures have released over 250 albums and have sold more than 100 million records worldwide. They have also been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008 and are considered one of the most successful instrumental bands in music history. The band's enduring popularity and influence have solidified their legacy as pioneers of instrumental rock music.
