Artist Bio:
The Viscounts were an American pop and rock band formed in New Jersey in the early 1960s. The group consisted of members Bobby Spievak, Harry Haller, Joe Spievak, and Larry Vecchio. They are best known for their instrumental hit single "Harlem Nocturne," which was released in 1965 and reached the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song has since become a classic in the genre of instrumental rock music.
The Viscounts released several other singles throughout the 1960s, including "Night Train," "Wabash Blues," and "Chug-A-Lug." While they never achieved the same level of commercial success as some of their contemporaries, The Viscounts are remembered for their contributions to the instrumental rock music scene of the 1960s.
