The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band is an American soul and funk band formed in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles in the mid-1960s. The band was originally formed as the "Soul Runners" in 1965, but changed their name to The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band after signing with Warner Bros. Records. They are best known for their hits such as "Do Your Thing" and "Express Yourself".


Led by Charles Wright, the band's music is characterized by its energetic and funky sound, blending elements of soul, R&B, and jazz. The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band achieved commercial success in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and their music continues to be celebrated for its infectious grooves and powerful horn arrangements.
