The Whispers are an American R&B and soul vocal group, formed in 1964 in Los Angeles, California. The group originally consisted of twin brothers Walter and Wallace Scott, Nicholas Caldwell, Marcus Hutson, and Gordy Harmon. They are known for their smooth harmonies, sophisticated style, and a string of hit songs in the 1970s and 1980s.


The Whispers have released over 20 albums and have had numerous hit singles, including "And the Beat Goes On," "Rock Steady," and "It's a Love Thing." They have been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and have received the Rhythm and Blues Foundation's Pioneer Award. The group continues to perform and record music, and they are considered one of the most enduring and successful R&B vocal groups in music history.
