Artist Bio:
The Wonders was a fictional band featured in the 1996 movie "That Thing You Do!" written and directed by Tom Hanks. The band was formed in Erie, Pennsylvania in the early 1960s and consisted of four members: Jimmy Mattingly, the lead vocalist and guitarist; Lenny Haise, the guitarist; Guy Patterson, the drummer; and T.B. Player, the bassist. The Wonders rose to fame with their hit song "That Thing You Do!" after changing their name from The Oneders due to pronunciation issues.

The film follows the band's journey as they experience the highs and lows of sudden stardom in the music industry. The Wonders' catchy pop song quickly climbs the charts and propels them to national fame, leading to tours, TV appearances, and record deals. The Wonders' rise to success is contrasted with internal tensions and external pressures that ultimately lead to the band's breakup.
