Artist Bio:
The Youngbloods were an American rock band formed in 1965 in New York City. The band consisted of Jesse Colin Young (vocals, bass), Jerry Corbitt (guitar), Lowell "Banana" Levinger (guitar, electric piano), and Joe Bauer (drums). They are best known for their hit single "Get Together," which was released in 1967 and became an anthem for the peace and love movement of the 1960s.
The Youngbloods' music incorporated elements of folk, rock, and blues, and they are often associated with the psychedelic rock and counterculture movements of the era. In addition to "Get Together," their other notable songs include "Darkness, Darkness" and "Sunlight." The band broke up in 1972 after releasing several albums, but their music continues to be celebrated for its message of peace, love, and social consciousness.
