Thomas Dolby is an English musician and producer known for his electronic and new wave music. He was born Thomas Morgan Robertson on October 14, 1958, in London, England. Dolby released his debut album, "The Golden Age of Wireless," in 1982, which featured the hit single "She Blinded Me with Science." He became a prominent figure in the 1980s music scene for his innovative use of synthesizers and electronic production techniques.
Aside from his solo music career, Dolby has also worked as a producer and collaborator with various artists, including David Bowie, Roger Waters, and George Clinton. In addition to his music, Dolby has ventured into other creative fields such as film soundtracks and technology development. He has also worked in academia, serving as a professor at Johns Hopkins University's Peabody Institute. Dolby continues to perform and release music, blending his electronic music roots with elements of jazz and other genres.
