Artist Bio:
Thompson Twins were a British pop band formed in 1977, consisting of three members: Tom Bailey, Alannah Currie, and Joe Leeway. They achieved commercial success in the 1980s with their catchy synth-pop sound. The band's name was inspired by the two bumbling detectives Thomson and Thompson from the Tintin comic series. They released their debut album, "A Product of... (Participation)" in 1981, which was followed by several hit albums including "Quick Step and Side Kick" and "Into the Gap."
One of their most popular songs, "Hold Me Now," reached the top 10 in the UK and US charts. The band was known for their distinctive fashion sense, incorporating a mix of bright colors and quirky hairstyles. Thompson Twins disbanded in 1993 after a successful music career, leaving behind a legacy of memorable hits and a significant contribution to the 80s pop music scene.
