Three Dog Night is an American rock band formed in 1967. The band's original lineup consisted of vocalists Danny Hutton, Cory Wells, and Chuck Negron, along with instrumentalists Jimmy Greenspoon, Joe Schermie, Mike Allsup, and Floyd Sneed. They are known for their unique three-part vocal harmonies and their ability to cover a wide range of musical genres, including rock, pop, and R&B.


Three Dog Night achieved commercial success in the late 1960s and 1970s with hits like "Joy to the World," "Mama Told Me (Not to Come)," and "One." They had a total of 21 Billboard Top 40 hits and sold over 40 million records worldwide. The band was known for their energetic live performances and continued to tour and perform well into the 21st century. Three Dog Night was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2000.
