Timi Yuro was an American singer born as Rosemary Timothy Yuro on August 4, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. She was known for her powerful voice and emotional delivery, which earned her the nickname "the little girl with the big voice." Yuro began her music career in the early 1960s and achieved success with hits like "Hurt" and "What's a Matter Baby (Is It Hurting You)." She was one of the few white artists to be embraced by the predominantly African-American audiences of the time, and she was praised for her soulful vocal style.


Yuro's music career spanned several decades, and she continued to perform and record until her death on March 30, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite facing health challenges later in life, she left a lasting impact on the music industry with her distinctive voice and emotional performances.
