Todd Rundgren is an American musician, singer-songwriter, and producer born on June 22, 1948, in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. He first gained fame in the late 1960s as a member of the band Nazz before launching a successful solo career. Rundgren is known for his diverse musical style, incorporating elements of rock, pop, R&B, and electronic music in his work. Throughout his career, he has released over 25 studio albums, with hits such as "Hello It's Me" and "I Saw the Light."
In addition to his solo work, Rundgren has also produced albums for other artists, including Meat Loaf's "Bat Out of Hell." He is considered a pioneer in the music industry for his innovative production techniques and use of technology in recording. Rundgren was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021 as a member of the class of 2021.
