Tommy Boyce was an American singer-songwriter and record producer, best known for his collaboration with Bobby Hart. Together, they wrote and produced several hit songs for artists such as The Monkees, including the iconic theme song for the television show. Boyce and Hart also had success as a duo, releasing a number of albums in the 1960s.


Born on September 29, 1939, in Charlottesville, Virginia, Boyce began his music career as a solo artist before teaming up with Hart. The duo's songwriting talents were highly sought after in the music industry, and they continued to work together until the early 1970s. Boyce tragically passed away on November 23, 1994, at the age of 52. Despite his untimely death, his contributions to the music world continue to be celebrated, particularly through the enduring popularity of the songs he co-wrote with Bobby Hart.
