Tommy Dee was an American singer who was active in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He is best known for his collaboration with the group Carol Kay and the Teen-Aires on the song "Three Stars." The song was a tribute to the late rock and roll musicians Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson, who died in a plane crash in 1959. "Three Stars" was released in 1959 and reached number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.


Carol Kay and the Teen-Aires was a vocal group led by Carol Kay, who provided backing vocals on "Three Stars." The group gained recognition for their harmonious sound and performed on various television shows and live events.
