Tommy Edwards was an American singer and songwriter born on February 17, 1922, in Richmond, Virginia. He is best known for his hit song "It's All in the Game," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1958. Edwards started his music career as a member of the R&B group The Royaltones before embarking on a successful solo career. He was known for his smooth tenor voice and his ability to effortlessly blend pop, R&B, and rockabilly styles in his music.
In addition to "It's All in the Game," Edwards had several other hit songs throughout the 1950s and 1960s, including "Please Mr. Sun" and "Love Is All We Need." He continued to perform and record music until his passing on October 22, 1969, at the age of 47.
