The band's lineup consisted of Tommy James as the lead vocalist and guitarist, along with the Shondells: Tommy James' backing band which included Eddie Gray on guitar, Mike Vale on bass, Ron Rosman on keyboards, and Peter Lucia on drums. They gained popularity in the 1960s with hits such as "Hanky Panky," "Mony Mony," and "Crimson and Clover."
