He is best known as the leader of the rock band Tommy James and the Shondells, which had a string of hits in the 1960s and 1970s. Some of their most popular songs include "Crimson and Clover," "Mony Mony," and "I Think We're Alone Now."


Tommy James' music is often associated with the psychedelic rock and bubblegum pop genres of the era. He has had a successful career as a solo artist as well, releasing several albums and singles over the years. Tommy James was inducted into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame in 2005, recognizing his contributions to the music industry.
