Tommy Shaw is an American rock musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the rock band Styx. He was born on September 11, 1953, in Montgomery, Alabama. Shaw joined Styx in 1975 and quickly became a key member of the band, contributing to their success with hit songs like "Renegade" and "Too Much Time on My Hands." He left Styx in 1984 to pursue a solo career but rejoined the band in 1995 and continues to perform with them to this day.
In addition to his work with Styx, Tommy Shaw has released several solo albums and has collaborated with other artists on various projects. He is known for his distinctive voice, strong guitar skills, and songwriting abilities. Shaw has also been recognized for his contributions to the music industry, including being inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
