Tool is an American rock band formed in 1990 in Los Angeles, California. The band's lineup consists of vocalist Maynard James Keenan, guitarist Adam Jones, drummer Danny Carey, and bassist Justin Chancellor. Tool is known for their complex and intricate sound, characterized by heavy guitar riffs, polyrhythmic drum patterns, and philosophical lyrics. They have released five studio albums, including "Undertow" (1993), "Ænima" (1996), "Lateralus" (2001), "10,000 Days" (2006), and "Fear Inoculum" (2019), all of which have received critical acclaim and commercial success.


Tool has won three Grammy Awards, including Best Metal Performance for the song "Schism" in 2002. The band is also known for their elaborate live performances, featuring stunning visuals and an emphasis on musicianship.
