Toto is an American rock band formed in 1976 in Los Angeles. The band's original lineup consisted of members David Paich, Steve Lukather, Steve Porcaro, David Hungate, Jeff Porcaro, and Bobby Kimball. Toto is known for their diverse musical style that incorporates elements of pop, rock, jazz, and funk. They achieved commercial success with their self-titled debut album in 1978, which included hits like "Hold the Line" and "Georgy Porgy."
Toto went on to release several more albums throughout the 1980s, including the critically acclaimed "Toto IV," which spawned hits like "Africa" and "Rosanna." The band has won multiple Grammy Awards and has sold over 40 million records worldwide. Despite various lineup changes over the years, Toto continues to tour and record new music, with Steve Lukather being the only original member remaining in the current lineup.
