Traffic was a British rock band formed in 1967, known for blending rock, folk, jazz, and psychedelic influences in their music. The band was founded by Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Dave Mason, and Chris Wood. Steve Winwood, a talented multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, became the driving force behind the band, contributing his distinct voice and musical abilities to their sound. In 1967, Dave Mason left the group, and Traffic continued as a trio with Winwood, Capaldi, and Wood.
Throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, Traffic released several critically acclaimed albums, including their self-titled second album and "John Barleycorn Must Die." Their music was characterized by intricate arrangements, improvisational elements, and a unique blend of genres. Despite various lineup changes over the years, Traffic featuring Steve Winwood remained a popular and influential band in the rock music scene until their disbandment in 1974.
